Swatch Sistem51 HODINKEE Generation 1986 Is Inspired by the 80s Emerald Diver

Right in time for the holidays, HODINKEE and Swatch have partnered for their third collaborative effort around the Sistem51, this time pulling inspiration from the 1986 Emerald Diver. That watch featured an electric green case and fixed bezel, and yellow and red markers atop a black dial. For the Swatch Sistem51 HODINKEE Generation 1986, we get an all-black case and strap, eccentric hour and minute markers and the deletion of the day indicator. This modern watch blends with nostalgic details and reignites our passion for mechanical watchmaking and will ultimately spark it in others. It’s accessible and has personality while being filled with detail and curiosity. The 42mm case houses some of Swatch Group’s latest innovations, the automatic Sistem51 movement with a Nivachron hairspring. The exhibition case back features a muted, black-and-gray HODINKEE pattern filled with interlocking “H” characters running across the mainplate, where you can also view the peripheral rotor and some of the movement components.
