1966 Ford Le Mans Win Inspires the 2022 GT Holman Moody Heritage Edition

The latest Ford GT supercar iteration has been announced and it honors Ford’s 1-2-3 finish at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Dubbed the 2022 Ford GT Holman Moody Edition, it is presented in a red and cold color combination that is inspired by the original Holman Moody livery from the race. It has the number “5” roundels to match that original racing number, however, it has been modernized. The vehicle features exposed carbon fiber in its splitter, side sills, rear diffuser, and engine louvers, as well as in 20-inch carbon fiber wheels.

Its interiors are also filled with carbon fiber on door sills, consoles, and lower A-pillars. It also has the number 5 inscribed on the door panels. Gold trim flows on the instrument panel and paddle shifters.

The American automobile manufacturer says delivery will start this Spring for approved GT customers. The vehicle will be showcased at this year’s New York Auto Show together with the original third-place Holman Moody Ford GT40 MK II, chassis No. P/1016.

No price has been released for the 2022 Ford GT Holman Moody Edition.
