Wales Bonner and adidas Originals’ Fourth Collab Births ’70s and ’80s-Inspired SS22 Collection

Wales Bonner and adidas Originals releases a Spring/Summer 2022 collection inspired by ’70s and ’80s fashion for their fourth collaboration. It is heavily influenced by the music and photography in Burkina Faso which was researched by designer Grace Wales Bonner. The collection showcases the creative energy and individuality of the culture through the bold and cheerful color palette. 

The apparel line is set off with athletic-inspired jacquard knitwear and adidas Track Top and Track Pants with the ’70s vibe. We can see a lot of “Primary Red” colorways, as well as “Sun Yellow” and “Pale Pink.”

We can also see the same influence on the footwear collection, with two versions of the adidas Country silhouette in black and brown colorways. Wales Bonner also fit in some impressions from previous collaborations, including WB Samba, through a red-white and white-green colorways.

The campaign shoot was captured by Jalan and Jibril Durimel and styled by Tom Guinness.
