Awake NY x Vans Old Skool Collaboration Celebrates Skate, Music, and Cultural History

Vans and Awake NY collaborate on two special colorways of Vans Old Skool footwear that celebrate downtown New York City’s skate and punk culture in the ’90s. Hip-hop and its fusion with punk defined that era in NYC and the pairs reflect that.

The first example explores Awake NY’s Angelo Baque’s eye for bold tones, with lush green suede toebox, eye stays, tongue, and heel accents wrapped over a purple Vans Jazz Stripe over a yellow and black cow print patterned canvas. 

The second pair sports muted black accents and embellishments over the same yellow and black cow print patterned canvas.

Both footwear features the “AWAKE” branding debossed onto the heel, white laces, a white vulcanized rubber with black foxing, and a classic gum outsole.

The two Awake NY x Vans Old Skool collaborations will retail for $75 each and are available now through awakenyclothing.com.
