Grace Wales Bonner will be collaborating with Adidas again after joining forces for the Jamaican football capsule collection unveiled earlier this year. The upcoming Wales Bonner x Adidas FW23 drop was teased with a few images showing the new Samba and SL72 models with a decidedly Wales Bonner touch.
The two footwear styles aren’t new, as they featured in the pair’s FW20 and SS22 collections, but the Fall/Winter 2023’s new treatments and colorways are. The Wales Bonner x Adidas FW23 Samba model shows a leather upper with a reflective gunmetal finish, Intricate lace-like stitching on the Three Stripe branding on the sides, around the heel badge panel, and the oversized tongue, an earthy brown rubber midsole, and the Wales Bonner brand text on the side heel.
The SL72 Knit, on the other hand, comes in two color versions echoing the Jamaican roots running through the previous collection, a vermillion/chocolate pair and a green/orange variant. Both feature a knit mesh base, suede overlay panels, Wales Bonner branding, stitching accents around the heel, stacked sole units, and serrated soles.
The Wales Bonner x Adidas FW23 SL72 Knit and Samba will be released later this year. In the meantime, check out the images in the lookbook above.
