Porsche Design Chronograph 718 Spyder RS

Along with the announcement of the 2024 Porsche 718 Spyder RS, Porsche Design is also launching the new Chronograph 718 Spyder RS exclusively for buyers of the convertible roadster. Each timepiece is handcrafted at Porsche’s own watchmaking operation in Solothurn, Switzerland.

The new chronograph features a lightweight titanium case in either natural titanium or Black titanium, a bezel in the corresponding color, tachymeter or minute dial options, a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a seven-fold anti-reflective coating on both sides, a carbon ‘RS’ dial and black ‘GT’ dial, white hour and minute ceramic Super-LumiNova® indices, totalizers with Racing Yellow ‘M’, ‘H,’ and ‘Flyback’ lettering, hands in PERFORMANCE (white), ESSENCE (black), or GT (yellow) options, and a mechanical gear indicator at 9 o’clock with a checkered flag design in black and white and ‘Spyder RS’ lettering.

All available Spyder RS standard, metallic, and special colors, as well as 114 additional colors of choice, including numerous historic Porsche colors, are options you can specify for the colored dial ring.

The Chronograph 718 Spyder RS case back features a Spyder RS wheel-inspired rotor, while the Weissach package watch counterpart’s rear has a lightweight magnesium alloy wheel design rotor. The end cap adorned with an ‘RS’ logo in Brilliant Silver in the center of both rotors is available in Brilliant Silver, Aluminum (satin finish), Dark Silver, Neodyme, Indigo Blue, and Black. Other customization options include model-specific rotor colors selected via the timepiece configurator and personalized text engraving of up to 12 characters.

Powering the Chronograph 718 Spyder RS is the COSC-certified Porsche Design WERK 01.200 encased in the glass bead–blasted titanium back. The movement features a flyback function that has starting, stopping, and resetting functions in a single operation.

The leather watch strap is crafted from the same black vehicle leather with an attachment made of black Race-Tex with ‘Spyder RS’ embossed in the 6 o’clock position. The contrasting stitching is available in Carmine Red or Arctic Gray just like the car. All straps come with a quick-change mechanism and a folding clasp with pushers that match the case color. On request, the chronograph can come with a titanium bracelet.

The Chronograph 718 Spyder RS comes with a unique plaque, featuring the limitation number, in an exclusive watch box. The online timepiece configurator can also be used to enter an individual text for personal engraving on the plaque. Those who purchase the 718 Spyder RS with Weissach package and matching chronograph get a ‘Weissach RS’ graphic on the plaque, featuring the outline of the Porsche Development Centre test track in Weissach, Germany.

The Porsche Design Chronograph 718 Spyder RS is available starting May 10th exclusively for buyers of the new Porsche 718 Spyder RS and Porsche 718 Spyder RS with Weissach package. It has a starting retail price of $8,800 at Porsche centers and Porsche Design stores.
