Air Jordan 2 ‘Origins’ | From Italy to Sneaker Culture

The Air Jordan 2 ‘Origins’ has resurfaced and is pointing a spotlight on its often-overlooked Italian heritage. The latest ‘White/Fire Red’ iteration from Jordan Brand pays homage to the silhouette’s luxurious origins, reintroducing its exclusive Italian craftsmanship and design elements.

Back in 1986, the Air Jordan 2, co-engineered by Bruce Kilgore and Peter Moore, made waves with its sophisticated and lavish aesthetic, commanding a hefty $100 price tag, $35 more than its predecessor, the Air Jordan 1. This initial release, confined to select cities during its early months on the market, was crafted with premium Italian leather and remains one of the rare finds.

The upcoming Air Jordan 2 ‘Origins’ edition mirrors the hues of the Italian flag and its Italian roots with pristine white leather uppers, Fire Red and Fir green trim accents, gray and red outer sole, and finished with heel clips and midsoles sporting an intentional weathered finish.

The Air Jordan 2 ‘Origins’ is scheduled to drop on November 15th and is expected to be available via Nike SNKRS and select retailers, with a starting price of $175. In the meantime, check out the images of the new kicks.
