Patek Philippe Cubitus Is The First New Watch Collection From Brand In 25 Years

Patek Philippe introduced its new Cubitus collection, comprising three stunning timepieces that harmoniously blend boldness, elegance, and technological innovation. The luxury watchmaker was inspired to create square-shaped timepieces with a sleek and elegant design and a new movement for this collection.

The Cubitus Grande Date, ref. 5822P-001 starts the collection. This striking timepiece introduces groundbreaking complications, including instantaneous grand date, day, and moon-phase displays. The grand date is displayed at 12 o’clock through a twin aperture with a beveled embossed frame. At 7 o’clock, the coaxial day and moon-phase indications are present, complemented by a small second subdial between 4 and 5 o’clock.

The timepiece’s square platinum case measures 45mm in diameter and includes polished and vertical satin-brushed finishes. The dial is sunburst blue in color and is horizontally embossed. The blue hue is complemented by the white gold finish on the applied baton-style hour markers and rounded baton-style hours and minutes hands. At 6 o’clock, a baguette-cut diamond is set on the bezel, a feature present on all platinum models by the brand.

The watch is equipped with Patek Philippe’s new movement, the caliber 240 PS CI J LU, based on the ultra-thin self-winding 240 caliber. This powerful movement features advanced energy management technology for the multiple displays and their simultaneous 18-millisecond jumps. Completing the timepiece is a navy blue composite strap with a fabric pattern, contrasting cream stitching, and a platinum fold-over clasp, which enhances its modern appeal.

The second timepiece, the self-winding 5821/1AR Cubitus, also boasts an elegant and bold design with its two-tone finish comprising rose gold and steel, with alternating polished and vertical satin-brushed finishes. Similarly to the Cubitus Grande Date, this version has a square-shaped 45 mm-diameter case and a horizontally embossed sunburst blue dial. However, the applied baton-style hour markers and rounded baton-style hands are in rose gold with a white luminescent coating.

This model is powered by the self-winding 26-330 S C caliber, equipped with a stop-second function and a central 21K gold rotor, matching the horizontal motif on the dial. At 3 o’clock, the date is present in an aperture. The watch is completed by a rose gold and steel bracelet with a patented fold-over clasp and a lockable adjustment system.

The last timepiece in the collection is the self-winding 5821/1A Cubitus. This model is entirely stainless steel with alternating polished and vertical satin-brushed finishes. It also features a square case measuring 45 mm in diameter and a horizontally embossed dial. The dial’s sunburst olive green color provides a striking contrast against the steel, which is complemented by white gold applied hour markers with a white luminescent coating.

This model shares the same self-winding caliber 26-330 S C, equipped with a stop-second function and central 21K gold rotor. Its steel bracelet also features the patented fold-over clasp with a lockable adjustment system.

The Cubitus collection is highly anticipated, marking the brand’s first new collection in 25 years. It can be purchased at authorized retailers, and pricing varies across the three models. The Cubitus Ref. 5822P-001 Platinum is priced at $88,380, the Cubitus Ref. 5821/1AR-001 Stainless Steel and Rose Gold is priced at $61,280, and the Cubitus Ref. 5821/1A-001 Stainless Steel is priced at $41,240.
