Rolls-Royce Unveils Bespoke Spectre Lunaflair With Stunning Holographic Paint Finish
Rolls-Royce revealed its latest Bespoke commission, the Spectre Lunaflair, a breathtaking motor car with a holographic paint finish that gives off a rainbow effect.
The Bespoke paint finish captures the phenomenon of a lunar halo, from which the vehicle’s ‘Lunaflair’ name is also inspired. A lunar halo, a circular ring of light that appears around the moon, is created by the refraction of moonlight through ice crystals in high-altitude cirrus clouds, creating a stunning technicolor effect. The Spectre Lunaflair perfectly embodies this lighting effect, which is achieved through seven layers of lacquer, including a pearlescent coat infused with fine flakes of magnesium fluoride and aluminum.
The remarkable paint finish has a deep metallic sheen under low light that transforms into a brilliant rainbow technicolor in bright sunshine, which took more than a year of experimentation to produce. This color-shifting finish draws inspiration from the Phantom Syntopia, another Bespoke masterpiece with a dark iridescent Liquid Noir finish.
Inside, the Spectre Lunaflair continues its dramatic appearance with Navy Blue, White, and Peony Pink Tones on the seats, doors, and the Starlight Headliner. These colors, which are seen during a lunar halo, are also featured on the dual-tone steering wheel.
The Spectre Lunaflair is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece produced for a significant client from the United States. The unique paint finish will remain exclusively reserved for the commissioning patron. For more details, visit the brand’s website.
