Omega has expanded its Moonphase collection with two striking new timepieces featuring stunning meteorite dials. The two new Omega Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorites captivate the eye and redefine the Moonphase lineup with their sleek, modern aesthetic.
Each timepiece boasts a 43mm case diameter and 13.6mm thickness, a significant reduction from the previous 44.25mm and 17mm automatic models. The slimmer profile and the 48.6 lug-to-lug dimensions enhance comfort and wearability. Classic Speedmaster design elements, including the asymmetrical case, bombé lugs, ceramic bezel insert, pump-style pushers, and sapphire crystal, remain the same, while the water resistance is 50 meters.
At the heart of the new Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorites is the newly developed OMEGA 9914 caliber, a hand-wound movement enabling its slimmer case profile. Certified as a Master Chronometer, the movement ensures exceptional accuracy of 0/+5 seconds daily, magnetic resistance up to 15,000 gauss, and a 60-hour power reserve.
The timepieces’ visually stunning dials are in light and dark versions, crafted entirely from meteorites with a Widmanstätten pattern. The lighter variant includes a galvanic gray coating with blue accents, while the darker features a black PVD coating. Both dials include 18k white gold hands and markers with Super-LumiNova fill.
The left register displays the running second’s hands with a white hand and the date with a red hand. The right register displays the 60-minute and 12-hour chronograph, while the moon phase is at 6 o’clock. The moon phase display has been updated from other versions, and it now shows the lunar phases for both hemispheres.
Each Omega Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite is priced at $17,100, around a 50% increase from the Speedmaster Moonphase without meteorite. However, these new additions are Omega’s most wearable modern moon phase yet. Each timepiece can be purchased via the brand’s website.
