Zenith Chronomaster Original with a Black Tricolor Dial Reinterprets Historic 1969 Case

Zenith just released the Chronomaster Original with a Black Tricolor dial, the successor to the round-cased steel El Primero Zenith 1386 first seen in 1969. Featuring an inversion of the creamy-white with gray and blue subdials, the new Chronomaster Original features a black tricolor dial in a 38mm steel case.

The heritage-inspired 38mm Zenith Chronomaster Original with a Black Tricolor dial features a bezel-less steel case construction, raised and domed sapphire crystal, pump-style chronograph pushers, black matte dial, faceted Super-LumiNova-coated and Rhodium-plated indexes and hands, straight red seconds hand, light gray small seconds counter at 9 o’clock, a darker gray 60-minute counter at 6 o’clock, a blue 60-second counter at 3 o’clock, sapphire display back, and water resistance up to 50 meters. The watch comes in a stainless steel bracelet or a black calfskin leather strap, with a stainless steel triple folding clasp.

Running the new Zenith Chronomaster Original with a Black Tricolor dial is the El Primero 3600 Automatic movement that beats at a frequency of 5Hz. It features a blue column wheel, an open rotor marked with the five-pointed star Zenith, and a 60-hour power reserve.

The Chronomaster Original with black tricolor steel strap variant, reference 03.3200.3600/22.M3200, retails for $10,000. The Chronomaster Original with black tricolor black calfskin leather strapped variant, reference 03.3200.3600/22.C908, retails for $9,500.
