Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Celebrates Record Year With £300 Million Investment

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has revealed a more significant investment of more than £300 million to expand its renowned Goodwood manufacturing facility. This expansion will enable the brand to meet the growing demand for its bespoke, high-value commissions and pave the way for an all-battery electric vehicle (BEV) future.

Since its opening in 2003, the plant has experienced substantial growth. From a workforce of just 300 people and producing just one car a day, the plant now produces up to 28 cars daily with a workforce of more than 2,500 individuals. This new investment, the largest injection of capital since its establishment, enhances the plant’s capabilities even further.

The Bespoke division had a remarkable year in 2024, achieving record growth with an average 10% increase in content value per vehicle. This growth was driven by some of the most creative and technically complex commissions, including solid 18-carat gold sculptures, delicate marquetry, intricate embroideries, mother-of-pearl artworks, and holographic paint finishes.

Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended and the Spectre model saw the highest levels of Bespoke content in 2024. Additionally, the unveiling of Arcadia Droptail, a Coachbuild masterpiece, reinforced the marquee’s position at the pinnacle of luxury craftsmanship.

Last year, the company expanded its global network of Private Offices to New York and Seoul, bringing the Rolls-Royce commissioning experience from Goodwood to clients worldwide. Additionally, the Rolls-Royce Whispers app saw a 55% increase in membership, further displaying the company’s growth. The company’s sales also rocketed, reaching 5,712, with Cullinan, Spectre, and Ghost being the most requested models.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is poised for further growth in 2025, with plans to unveil its next all-electric motor car. The landmark investment for its Goodwood facility celebrates its record year and demonstrates the marquee’s commitment to growth, innovation, craftsmanship, and personalized luxury.
