Fraunhofer’s 3D dashboard prototype uses cameras to keep track of the location of your eyes

The Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications, Heinrich-Hertz Institute in Berlin has developed a dashboard that displays your location and the surrounding area in 3D, in real time. There’s no need for any funny-looking glasses because the system uses cameras to keep track of the location of your eyes in order deliver the depth imaging effect.

The dash also displays the information that is most relevant to the driver at any time. Depending on user settings and preferences, the dash can also display relevant information for the driver at any time including file guage, tire pressure, route information or the title of the currently playing song.

It will be at CeBIT in Hanover next month but is still a prototype.
