Yes, it’s still May. No, it’s not too early to be thinking about the fall. Oak Street Bootmakers certainly doesn’t think so. The team of master craftsmen at Oak Street have their sights set on autumn with their first seasonal Made in the USA Trench Boot — the Indigo Rough-Out Dainite Trench Boot.

The boot is constructed of natural rough-out Horween Chromexcel leather that is dyed with Japanese indigo. The indigo comes from the mountain village of Fujino, Japan, and is dyed there in a 160-year-old farmhouse. The result of this painstaking process is a vibrant, unique leather that the craftsmen in Oak Street Bootmakers’ New York factory craft and sew by hand. Add Dainite outsoles and heels for extra gripping power and, voila, a boot is born.

The finished product is a boot as sturdy and durable as it is fashionable. Pair it with khakis or jeans and a denim shirt and you’re ready for whatever the day brings. But if you want a pair, both speed and patience are required. Oak Street Bootmakers is currently accepting pre-orders of the book between now and June 7. The boots themselves will ship sometime in September. To pre-order, head to Oak Street Bootmakers’ website.
