Lego Technic continues its supercar collection with a replica of the Ferrari Daytona SP3. The 3,778-piece kit even has an eight-speed automatic transmission linked to a mid-mounted V12 engine. More so, its pistons are movable and the cockpit can be opened with two butterfly doors. The trunk can be unlatched, as well.
At 1/8-scale, it is stunningly accurate. However, the build is relatively larger than regular die-cast models. Once fully constructed, the Lego Technic Ferrari Daytona SP3 reaches a 23-length, 14-inch height, and 9.5-inch width collectible.
With its surprisingly detailed structure, the model seems to be less of a toy and more of a collector’s item for experienced builders.
In homage to the limited-edition original with costs over $2m, Lego and Ferrari have recently teamed up to develop a limited-edition coffee table book to highlight the model’s development.
The Ferrari Daytona SP3 kit (number 42143) has a price tag of $400. Lego stores worldwide have the kit now while other retailers will get their hands on the coupe model on August 1st.
