Cadillac Introduces Project GTP Hypercar, Set to Debut at Rolex 24 in Daytona

The Cadillac Project GTP Hypercar has been unveiled ahead of next year’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the FIA World Endurance Championship next year. The LMDh prototype race car set will also be gunning for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023.

We can see photos of Cadillac’s ultimate design vision. However, we should note that it is still a work in progress, and changes can still be made before it reaches the track. Cadillac says “an all-new 5.5-liter DOHC V8” will power the vehicle, paired with the common hybrid system set to be used for LMDh. More details on the powertrain will be revealed soon, so we have to stay tuned.

Going back to the design, there are some elements grabbed from Cadillac’s road-going performance cars, including LED vertical lights, as well as the bronze-painted wheels available for the CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing. Cadillac Project GTP Hypercar is fitted with carbon fiber and soon will be sporting a livery on the track, saying goodbye to its simple and clean look.

Cadillac Design, Cadillac Racing, and Dallara are all working on the car’s development and engineering. Its first racing action will be shared at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2023.
