RIMOWA x GEWA Violin Case Goes On The Road With Renaud Capuçon

The RIMOWA and GEWA collaboration is one of musical proportions. The two German brands come together in a collaborative project that explores functional luxury design space with the creation of the special-edition RIMOWA x GEWA Violin Case.

The special edition case can fit violin sizes 4/4 and 3/4 and features RIMOWA’s signature anodized grooved aluminum exterior, high-gloss aluminum corner, a hand-finished black microfiber interior, GEWA’s integrated adjustable neck pad system, hygrometer and a humidifier to control the case’s humidity levels, a string tube, an accessories compartment, a protective instrument blanket, leather grab handle, and a crossbody strap for carrying ease, and TSA-approved lock.

To bring attention to the violin case’s creation, RIMOWA came together with French violinist Renaud Capuçon to protect his 1737 ‘Panette Stern’ violin built by Guarneri ‘del Gesù inside the RIMOWA × GEWA Violin Case Silver as he made his way to New York City for a major performance.

The special-edition RIMOWA x GEWA Violin Case will be available in limited supply from the Rimowa website on March 23rd, though no prices have been released at this time.
