Oklahoma-based authorized Shelby builder Classic Recreations unveils the carbon fiber-bodied Shelby Cobra replica to celebrate Cobra and Shelby American’s 60th anniversary. Built from the ground up with no donor car, each of the 10 Shelby Cobra Diamond Edition cars is as new as it gets.
The Shelby Cobra Diamond Edition’s exterior features an aerospace-grade carbon fiber construction by Brothers Composites, UV-protected BASF Glasurit clear coat, panel-to-panel aligned weave pattern, and Forgeline, three-piece 12” front and 10” rear wheels. Options include a bare carbon fiber surface or a custom paint scheme.
The Shelby Cobra Diamond Edition’s cabin has been extended by two inches to the rear. It also features a bespoke Diamond Edition plaque fitted with diamonds representing each unique build, a carbon fiber dash panel with Shelby Signature Diamond Edition stripe-matched gauges, custom-made diamond-stitched seats with an inset Diamond Edition medallion, removable in-trunk suspension display/service panel, premium cut-pile carpeting, and stripe-matched racing harness and stitching.
Under the hood, the Shelby Cobra Diamond Edition runs on a 5.0L Gen3 Coyote Aluminator V8 engine hand-built by Ford Racing and paired with a 6-speed manual Tremec T56 magnum Dual-disk clutch that delivers 900 hp and 750 lb-ft of torque. It allows the car to go from 0-60 mph in 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of 190 mph. Additional updates include a VMP by Magnuson supercharger, Motec M-150 engine management system, dual-CV chromoly driveshaft, engine oil coolers, a bespoke race chassis with inboard cantilever independent suspension by Schwartz Performance, 3-way adjustable coil over shocks with remote external nitrogen reservoirs, and custom built independent rear suspension.
Buyers of the Shelby Cobra Diamond Edition also get exclusive ancillary items that include a unique delivery experience, a specially-designed stripe-color-matched carbon fiber race helmet, a Diamond Edition commemorative racing jacket, a Diamond Edition commemorative build book, and an optional track experience.
The Classic Recreations Shelby Cobra Diamond Edition starts at $1.2 million per unit before options. Production is limited to only 10 units, with two build slots already taken. For more information and to reserve a slot, please visit the official Classic Recreations website.
