Frederique Constant Unveils A Limited-Edition Classic Moonphase Date Manufacture With A Malachite Dial
Frederique Constant, a Swiss watchmaking manufacturer, marks the return of its iconic Classic Moonphase Date Manufacture with an all-new limited-edition revamped model. The new timepiece is crafted from white gold and includes a striking malachite dial, making it the first watch in the brand to use a mineral dial.
The new model also introduces other significant upgrades, including redesigned hour markers and hands. The hour markers have been finer and smaller at 5 and 7 o’clock, while the three central hands feature a new alpha-type shape. The date and moonphase are also redesigned and combined into one sub-dial at 6 o’clock, with silver accents to complement the white gold case. This merging of the moon phase and date frees up a vast portion of the dial, which allows the malachite to stand out. Despite the new aesthetics, the watch retains its classic positioning and signature complications, honoring its historic roots.
The Classic Moonphase Date Manufacture is also a standout with its technical features. It is equipped with a state-of-the-art FC-716 caliber fitted with an exclusive barrel, increasing the power reserve from 38 to 72 hours. This caliber sits inside a 40 mm-diameter case, a 2 mm reduction appreciated by collectors for its balance of size and precision. Other finishing details, such as the fan-like côtes de Genève stripe, emphasize the timepiece’s uniqueness.
Each watch is individually engraved and numbered and is completed with a topstitched dark green alligator strap with a folding buckle. This release showcases Frederique Constant’s creativity and inventiveness in watchmaking and symbolizes their aim to push the boundaries of watchmaking excellence. Only 36 pieces of this timepiece are produced, and each is priced at EUR 29,995. For more details, visit Frederique Constant’s website.
