BMW recently unveiled the 2024 X1 M35i xDrive, the M Performance version of its entry-level SUV. The new range-topping X1 gets a more powerful 2.0-liter engine, a reworked body style, hardware upgrades for better road performance, and the latest iDrive 9 infotainment system when it goes on sale later this year.
The new X1’s aggressive exterior sports larger air intakes in the front fascia, redesigned side skirt extensions, a model-specific roof spoiler, a rear apron with a new diffuser that incorporates quad exhaust pipes, standard 19-inch wheels with all-season tires with optional 20-inch wheels with summer tires.
Inside, the new M model has an Alcantara-trimmed instrument panel, blue stitching, an anthracite-colored roof liner, optional M sport seats, and the latest Operating System 9 software.
The new X1 M35i xDrive powertrain comes in the form of a turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder upgraded with M Compound brakes with four-piston front calipers on a 15.2-inch vented rotor and a single-piston floating caliper on a 13-inch rotor in the rear, a stronger crankshaft, an optimized oil supply system, and main bearing shells and caps.
The new engine produces 312 horsepower with 295 lb-ft of torque. Power to all four wheels is handled by BMW’s xDrive system coupled with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission with a built-in mechanical limited-slip differential. This allows the 2024 X1 M35i xDrive to go from 0-60 in just 5.2 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
The 2024 BMW X1 M35i xDrive is expected to be available at dealerships starting this October. Pricing will start at $49,900 plus a $995 destination fee before options.
