Daniel Arsham’s latest cast is inspired by a vintage RIMOWA suitcase. The limited edition “eroded suitcase” sculpture is a tarnished version of a classic RIMOWA suitcase and comes with a host of accessories, including handling gloves and a booklet of background information. Each suitcase is engraved with its edition number and comes packaged inside an exclusive RIMOWA hand luggage case.
Daniel Arsham and RIMOWA are auctioning off a one-of-one version through Sotheby’s. The single-lot auction features the sculpture itself, a signed drawing of the artwork, a personalized letter from Arsham, and a special sticker set designed by the duo. The auction is online only and goes until May 13th, with the bid already at $11,000 USD at the time of this writing. The piece itself gets an official release on May 17th on RIMOWA’s website and stores as well as Daniel Arsham’s website with a retail price of $2,200 USD.
