Team Mercedes took 5th and 6th place this past weekend at the first-ever Miami Grand Prix but the team kicked off the weekend by unveiling the new IWC Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 Edition “Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One™ Team” (Ref. IW388108).
It is presented in lightweight grade 5 titanium which has the highest strength-to-density ratio of any metal. It features a black dial with luminescence in the Mercedes-AMG team’s signature Petronas aquamarine green color. Since 2013, IWC has been the official engineering partner of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, and this is the first-ever collaborative watch to come from the duo.
The timepiece is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre movement, which consists of 231 individual parts in the classic column-wheel design, visible through its sapphire glass back.
Customers have a choice between black embossed calfskin and green rubber straps that can easily be interchanged using the integrated EasX-Change strap system.
