The Hill Side has launched a new range of made-in-Japan sneakers for this Spring/Summer season. Each shoe features a unique textile upper on a vulcanized Herringbone pattern rubber sole, twill tape binding at the tongue, a textured toe guard (and toe cap for some), a logo-printed footbed, and a molded logo heel plate. The fabrics used include 100% cotton materials, hemp-cotton blends, and wool. Fabric designs include tiger camouflage, mottled denim, single colored designs, and ‘coal stripe’ wool made together with Japan’s Kaptain Sunshine. The sneaker collection is sewn and assembled by hand in Japan and was inspired by the 1950s, when sneakers began to grow in popularity as casual wear items. This influence can be seen by the classic lines, attention to detail and the organic look of footwear range.
