Christie’s To Auction Off Rare Michael Jordan Rookie Card

Christie’s will hold an online-only sale called the Six Rings – Legacy of the GOAT from June 1st to 14th. It is set to offer one of the rarest Michael Jordan Rookie cards,  the Michael Jordan Upper Deck Signed 1986 Fleer #57 Rookie Card, with an estimated price tag of $2,000,000-3,000,000.

Christie’s rare card is the second-highest Beckett Grading Services-graded UDA signed Fleer #57 card and the original UDA congratulations card is included. In 2006-2007, the lucky owner of a Fleer 20th anniversary card was able to mail the card to Upper Deck, who returned it with an original Fleer Michael Jordan rookie card autographed by Jordan. Only 14 of the 23 cards released have been graded and are known to be owned by private collectors.

The auction will have six lots of rare objects in total, with game-worn sneakers in the mix as well. A standout includes a pair of Michael Jordan game-worn and dual-signed Player Exclusive Air Jordan Low XIII sneakers is slated to fetch over half a million.

Head to the Christie’s “Six Rings – Legacy of the GOAT” viewing room to see all the products and look for the 1986 rookie card to be displayed at Christie’s Rockefeller Center galleries from 3-7 June.
