The Mercedes-Maybach EQS680 SUV is the newest ultra-luxury electric SUV from Mercedes-Benz. Based on the Mercedes-Benz EQS, the SUV goes whole hog on the bells and whistles and is expected to launch in the latter half of 2023.
Externally, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 will be available with five different two-tone color combination options, with a sixth two-tone paint option being available at a later date. Maybach-specific design details include the vertical metallic-finished lines on the faux grille, a Mercedes-Benz star hood ornament, the Maybach logo pattern on the air intake, the Maybach logo on the D-pillar, and an exclusive running tail light pattern.
Inside, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 comes with premium leather and aluminum builds, two rows of seating, with the second row available as either a three-seat bench or individual reclining captain’s chairs, power-operated footrests, a beverage chiller, a matching stemware set, color-matched leather pillows, and a Maybach-specific scent for the interior fragrance system.
As for the vehicle’s infotainment and connectivity functions, the EQS680 SUV is equipped with a Hyperscreen, dominated by the large infotainment touchscreen and smaller displays showing gauges and entertainment options, unique ambient color options, 11.6-inch infotainment display on the front seatbacks, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Burmester 4D audio system, and wireless device charging.
The EQS680 SUV’s electric powertrain includes two 649 hp combined electric motors, standard all-wheel drive, a range of about 285 miles of driving per charge, charge speeds of up to 200 kW, battery charging from 10 to 80 percent in 31 minutes on a compatible DC fast charger, acceleration from 0-60mph in 4.1 second, air springs with adaptive dampers, a four-wheel steering feature,.and options for either 21 or 22-inch wheels.
No pricing has been released for the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 as of writing, though we should get more information as the production date draws near.
