A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar Debuts Platinum & Black Dial

A. Lange & Söhne, the Glashütte-based luxury watchmaker, recently released a new variant of the A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar model. First seen in 2021, the new dress watch entry comes in a platinum case with a black dial.

The 41.9mm A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar comes in the same case dimensions that define the line, but this one comes in 950 platinum. It has a rich black solid silver dial, blue moon phase disk with an integrated day/night indicator, a running seconds hand over the moon phase disk, white gold moon, retrograde day indicator, oversized date windows with bright white numerals, hour and minutes subdial with rhodium-coated gold hands, small leap year counter at 6 o’clock, a peripheral month ring, and sapphire crystal over the dial and the caseback. It comes with a black hand-stitched leather strap with a platinum prong buckle.

The movement on the new platinum and black A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 Perpetual Calendar is the in-house self-winding manufacture caliber L021.3. It features 621 parts, a lever escapement, an in-house balance spring, 63 jewels, 5 screwed gold chatons, blued-steel screws, 21k unidirectional winding rotor with platinum centrifugal mass, operates at a frequency of 3 Hz, and has a 50-hour power reserve.
