1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Coupé | The Wolf of Wall Street As-Filmed Car Up For Auction

The 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Coupé, a true Hollywood star in its own right, is making a grand re-entrance on the stage. This iconic vehicle used in Martin Scorsese’s blockbuster hit, The Wolf of Wall Street, with coachwork by Bertone and chassis number ZA9CA05A6KLA12692, is not just a car; it’s a time capsule of an era defined by its unapologetic extravagance.

Two Lamborghini Countach were used in the film: the damaged Hero Car and the backup car. While the Hero Car took all the beating, the Backup Car, with chassis number ZA9CA05A0KLA12722, played a supporting role in the film, making a fleeting 16-second appearance in two brief shots.

In Scorsese’s critically acclaimed film, this Lamborghini Countach Hero Car shared the limelight with Leonardo DiCaprio. Onscreen for a total of 3 minutes and 11 seconds, it was showcased in DiCaprio’s character Jordan Belfort’s wild ride home after taking the infamous Lemmons 714, the ultimate Quaalude experience.

The now iconic 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Coupé used in the film is one of 12 US-specification examples and features a Bianco Polo over Bianco paint scheme, the iconic scissor doors, and Bianco Countach’s white leather interior, and as-filmed damages. Since its final scene wrapped, the Hero Car has been meticulously preserved in the same condition it was in the film.

Accompanying this Hollywood icon, the buyer will also acquire documentation and an array of memorabilia, including one of only four Jordan Belfort costumes, a director’s chair, and a clapboard, all signed by the trio of Scorsese, DiCaprio, and Robbie. Additionally, the package features two original crew hoodies and two DVDs of the film. At the time of writing, the vehicle was undergoing customs processes in the UAE. Customs partner The Stables, will manage all post-sale customs administration.

The 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Coupé Wolf of Wall Street Hero Car is going up for auction at Bonhams, an auction happening alongside the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 25th. It’s estimated to fetch between $1.5m-2m. For more information, please visit the Bonhams website.
