Porsche and HEAD reveal their most recent collaboration after last fall’s collection. The Porsche x HEAD Ski collection for the upcoming ski season includes two ski models, as well as ski apparel and equipment, all inspired by the rally-winning Porsche 911 Dakar.
The Porsche x HEAD Ski collection carries a blue-and-white theme with red-and-gold stripes, the same colorway that adorned the Zuffenhausen all-wheel-drive 911 that won the Paris–Dakar desert rally in 1984.
Created with the insight of two-time Olympic skiing champion and Porsche brand ambassador Aksel Lund Svindal, the two ski models both feature a fully wooden core, carbon, and Titanal layers, an Energy Management Circuit (EMC) that stabilizes the skis and minimizes vibrations, and a proprietary Full Heel Release (FHR) technology for safety and reduced cruciate ligament strain in forward and backward-turning falls.
The high-performance PORSCHE 7 ‘Racing’ Series skis, inspired by giant slalom racing, are designed for groomed slopes, have a 2.75-inch center width, and are built to be stable and dynamic when accelerating and in tight turns.
The PORSCHE 8 ‘Rally’ Series skis, on the other hand, are crafted to be able to accelerate on the slopes, and comfortably cruise off the slopes. The handcrafted all-mountain skis have a 3.46-inch center width and are meant for all snow conditions.
The apparel in the collection includes a ski jacket and pants that use PFC-free fabrics, PrimaLoft ThermoPlume and PrimaLoft Black padding, a wind and moisture-protective IAM membrane, and a proprietary MXM sweat-wicking technology.
The Porsche x HEAD Ski collection also includes a light swing-weight carbon ski pole with aerodynamic grips, the Porsche Radar 5K Photo Mips visor helmet with 5K photochromic lens technology, and the Porsche ski bag that comes free of charge with the PORSCHE Series skis.
The Porsche x HEAD Ski Winter 2023 collection will be available at the start of this year’s ski season at Porsche Design stores, local authorized Porsche dealerships, select retailers, and at shop.porsche.com and porsche-design.com.
