On Wednesday, Valentino presented their Fall/Winter 2013-14 Collection at Paris Fashion Week, bringing out quite arguably one of the best collections for the season yet. The pieces feature a slimmed design with exceptional detailing such as leather panels on dark blue wool outerwear. Black watch and gray plaids can be had in a few different pieces as well while camouflage is brought out in more subdued tones. The leather outerwear lineup is crisp with smooth shells being fitted with hidden button closures and other minimalistic details. All-in-all, Valentino’s Fall 2013 collection is extremely wearable, with each piece aligning effortlessly with the next to create a fluid lineup.

Founders Didier and Evelyne Chetrite opened their first shop in the Marais district of Paris and have since passed the role of creative director onto their son Ilan Chetrite. He’s done an exceptional job with the F/W 2011 offerings, blending 1960s Rock N’ Roll with contemporary elegance to deliver a modern line that’s equal parts formal and casual. The pieces features top quality leathers and skins as well as knitwear items made from cashmere and wool.

This past week, Stone Island opened the doors to their new Paris flagship store. The 80 square-meter store located in the heart of the Parisian capital was subject to an intense renovation plan. While the merchandising is entirely displayed on the ground floor, the double-leveled glass façade is articulated on two floors and offers a strong exterior visual impact. The store opened with the FW 2011/2012 collections of Stone Island and Stone Island Shadow.

The Spring 2012 runway show for Dries Van Noten was a tremendous success in Paris as the designer showed a strong collection, headlined by utilization of waterproof fabrics.
