Ah, 1989. A year so rad that Taylor Swift had to name an album after it. (OK, so that’s totally not rad.) But one of the things that was rad about 1989 was a little action flick called “Kickboxer,” starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. In the movie, Van Damme (JCVD to his pals and clothing line) performed a dance/fight sequence that has yet to be topped.

Proving he’s still got the moves, Van Damme recreated the sequence Monday night during a visit with Conan O’Brien. The “Muscles From Brussels” did a decent job of it, even busting out a few of the fight moves that made him a star in the first place. No, he didn’t recreate the scene’s eye-popping split, but that’s understandable. 1989 was a long time ago, and even action stars age.

Still, the recreation was good enough for O’Brien, who decided to bust a few moves himself. Maybe there’s a part for him in that “Kickboxer” sequel Van Damme is filming.
