Nest has unveiled the latest version of their ever-so popular thermostat. It packs a screen that’s 40 percent larger than its predecessor and with a higher resolution (25 percent more pixels and up to 229 PPI). The UI gets a facelift as well while the body’s been slimmed down a bit. Along with the new display, Nest has added a Farsight feature that turns on the screen whenever it detects motion in a room, making it more effective in learning your habits and preferences. The previous generation Nest Thermostat required you to stand right in front of it. The Nest Thermostat displays an analog and digital clock, and the current temperature – both of which can be read from across the room. The new features make the thermostat more efficient in saving energy and allowing you to control the temperature in your home wherever you are. The 3rd Gen Nest Learning Thermostat is available for purchase on the Nest website and select retailers. You can also check out some of Nest’s other products to add to your Nest Home.
