Apple Over-Ear AirPods Max Noise-Cancelling Headphones are Here

With the AirPods Max, Apple is bringing the best of the AirPods to an over-ear design. Inside are H1 chips and advanced software to power computational audio alongside Adaptive EQ, Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency mode, and spatial audio. On the outside is the minimalist design approach we’ve come to expect from the Cupertino-based company. A breathable knit mesh canopy helps in distributing weight to reduce on-head pressure while the stainless steel headband frame delivers strength, flexibility and comfort. Telescoping headband arms let you customize the fit and the way each ear cup attaches to the headband allows each side to independently pivot and rotate to fit the unique contours of a user’s head. The sides don’t have any touch sensors or anything of the sort but there is one knob at the top. The Apple Watch-inspired Digital Crown controls volume, playback, skipping, answering or ending phone calls and activating Siri.

Convenience features include auto switching between devices and audio sharing across two sets of AirPods on iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple TV 4K. And when tucked away in the soft, slim Smart Case, AirPods Max enter an ultralow power state that preserves charge.

The Apple AirPods Max are available to pre-order now and will come in silver, space gray, sky blue, pink and green with a price tag of $549. AirPods Max begin shipping December 15th.
